How long will it take to ride a bike 14 miles?
I'm 20 and a girl.(I'm not sure if this is relevant) Since I do not have a car I have to resort to riding my bike. If I ride my bike at a normal/moderate pace(not extremely fast, but not slow either) for 14 miles how long will it take to reach my destination?

Kurt is pretty accurate I ride a bike for exercise so I average 14-16 mph

It will depend on the bike, terrain, wind, and your fitness level. No one will know until you try. Most riders will have a good idea how long it would take them.

Meliss Not to be a pain in the a$$ but it purely based upon your ability to ride, speed, weather, AND terrain. If it is hilly, take everyones time and increase it by 50%. At 7 mph, it will take you 2 hours. At 10 mph about 1 1/2 hours. Throw in bad weather and some hills and start adding time. The good thing, after the first two times you ride it, you will know. Your times only improve from there! Have fun! Soccerref

See link below. Figure it out. One hour, 24 min at 10 mph. One hour, 45 min. at 8 mph. One hour even at 14 mph. Take your pick. How fast can you pedal?

Since you don't know you must be a novice. Novices in my club average 10 mph, but even old and out of shape guys like me can average 15 mph. If your bike is a hybrid, add about 15 more minutes, if it is a mountain bike add another 15 min, if it is a BMX add another 15 min. And then some more for hill, wind and so.

depends how fast you ride, for me, it would take 30 seconds

Depends on the bike you have, the terrain, wind speed, and whether or not you're stopping at a lot of stop lights. 10 mph is pedaling pretty leisurely, and that would take you about an hour and 24 minutes. 15 mph is about average on a road bike, and that would take you about 56 minutes. My bike club averages about 20 mph on our road bikes, and this is hustling. That would take you about 42 minutes. So on average, I'd say about an hour if you don't have to stop for lights and traffic.

At 15 mph it will take about 60 min and at 20 it will take about 45 min

The only way to find out for sure is to get out and do it yourself. The people here know absolutely nothing about you and your bike, except for your age. They know nothing about the roads where you ride, and nothing about what you consider to be a "normal/moderate pace". Every answer you get will be a guess, just about every one will be wrong.

for you novice 90 mins you will be lucky if your b*** isn;t killing you though you may need to work up to 14 miles slowly with adjustments and possibly trying new saddles wle

it all depends on what bike you have, on a road bike you could do it alot faster than a downhill full on bike, it takes me about 20 mins to cycle 3 miles on my dirt jump bike, so im guessing your bike is i would say about 1 hours 30 mins in total
