the size of the tank isn't nearly as crucial as the PSI rating of the compressor. If it cna create enough presure to run the tools, it'll work, but with such a small tank, you may jsut have to wait a bit between uses.

6 Gallon will not work. a minimum of 33 gallons is needed. an air ratchet will drain a 6 gallon compressor way to quickly. the performance of the tool would be horrible to work with and you will spend more time waiting for the compressor to recharge then you would working on the car. At least a 33 gallon or high CFM compressor.

yeah it will. it will just run alot trying to keep up. you might have to wait a while the tank refill

That will be fine for things like impacts, ratchets, and other intermittent use tools. Where something that size falls short is constant use things like sand blasting, painting, die grinders, or other things you would tend to use for several minutes (or longer) at a time. You can use tools like that for short bursts but if you plan on regularly using that sort of stuff look close at the specs for the tools and select a compressor that will cover it with a little to spare.

Compressors are built with what is called air pressure capability. If your air ratchet uses 90 psi to operate, your compressor has to maintain that pressure or the ability of the tool will be severely limited. I operate a Dewalt 33 gallon 200 psi top load compressor. This handles my 650 ft lb impact and all of my support air tools. Pick the tool; that uses the most air and meet its demands and then your set.

The size of the tank is not what you need. Its the flow ratings of the compressor. As said above, find out which tool needs the most CFM and go from there.
