Goldfish are huge waste producers. One single goldfish should have at least a 10 gallon tank. 2 goldfish need even more room.

i would get guppies.... The males are so pretty and you can have 1 inch fish per gallon so get 8 colorful guppies. You will love them......

A bowl is an unsuitable home for any fish…. Especially goldfish!! Here is a link that shows the only type of fish suitable for a bowl: Goldfish produce too much waste for ANY bowl. The only suitable home for goldfish is a very heavily filtered tank. Here is a very good article about “Goldfish” Bowls: Single tail goldfish should be kept in a 75 gallon (long) tank with a very strong filter. Single tail goldfish are actually best suited for ponds. You can keep 2 fancy goldfish in a 20 gallon tank with a very strong filter. Each additional fancy goldfish needs at least 10 additional gallons of water. *** EDIT ***: Although the bioOrb bowl incorporates a filter, the filter is not sufficient for even a single goldfish. The ONLY coldwater fish suited for this set-up would be a couple of white cloud minnows. You would be able to keep 3-4 VERY small tropical fish in this tiny bowl so long as the adult size of the fish would not exceed about 5cm in length. This bowl is NOT appropriate for Betta fish!! Bettas take oxygen directly from the air via a labyrinth organ. The biOrb is a closed system (not open on top) which would prevent a betta from getting air from the surface.

no, an 8 gallon tank is not suitable for 2 goldfish. Goldfish are just about the nastiest fish to keep, they produce a lot of waste. goldfish need about 10 gallons of water per fish while they are small and medium in size. water requirements increase as the fish grows. Fish to put in an 8 gallon tank....if you plant it right, a betta would find that a wonderful home. A small school (4-6) of guppies, tetras, platies, or other small fish (max size 2 inches) would be good to keep.

Unfortunately, the type of bowl you have would be difficult to attach a heater to and heaters are required for any type of tropical fish. You might be able to find something that can hook onto the small opening at the bowl top, but then it might get in the way of feedings and prevent fish from getting surface air, if they need it. Your best bet are a few small coldwater fish (no goldfish, they require at least 10 gallons with a better filter than what comes with the biorb). There is actually another type of fish suitable for a bowl! EDIT-The person who gave me the thumbs-down obviously doesn't have a sweet tooth :(
