Vintage Table Lamps

Vintage table lamps are both practical and beautiful. They are typically very old and are designed to be ornate. Most are made in very intricate designs that are elegant and help accentuate a room. The designs vary depending on the year of the model. Some of these beautifully crafted pieces of functioning art are older the one hundred years. Finding them is not always easy.

Most estate sales, as well as antiquities auction houses and even online market places like Amazon will usually have a good selection of vintage lamps. For wide selections, specialty stores that deal mostly in antique and vintage lamps are best.

The designs and art work can come from all over the world. Beautifully designed and crafted table lamps from China, Japanese, and France are among the most sought after. They are typically known by their specific regional design styles.

French lamp craftsmen used designs based on ancient Greece, as well as period French antiquities, specifically busts of important people in French history, like Marie Antoinette. British craftsmen liked to convey imagery on their lamps, similar to the "Blue Willow" China sets from late periods.

There are different designs for different tastes and the designs can be dated to a specific era, and even a specific region. However, when you are looking for your Vintage table lamps, whatever your tastes may be, you can find it.

Vintage Table Lamps. Trash or treasure? Need you help.?
I bought those lamps at a thrift store. They seem to be old. On the "spider" of the lampshade it says "Leonard R. Foss". Can anybody tell me how old they are and if they have any vintage value? Here is the picture: Thanks!

i am very familiar with that name. I used to have a lamp like that before i sold it an an antique auction. Fortunately for me i sold it for $3,000 dollars! For a lamp that is fantastic. By looking at the condition of your lamp and color from the picture, id say yours is worth a little more than mine was because mine was in horrible condition, i will miss it though, it was a great conversation piece. get that fortune! PS: the lamp i had was nearly 89 years old!

Those are beautiful. You should love them even if they are not "vintage". Google shows Leonard R. Foss worked in sheepskin and rawhide laces on his lampshades. This does not look like one of his lampshades.
