Today's Discussion

Is there a filler/adhesive available to repair damage to upvc door frame. Superglue makes it worse?
It started with a split on frame under the door, caught by a cycle or something. It looked easy enough to stick down, but the superglue didn't work, and appeared to slightly melt the repair area. I've tried many other glues without success. Yes there is. Go to the Evode company website, these people are specialists. Or you can go to a Builders Merchants like Jewsons who would advise you. Don't bother with all the other Jewsons supply the building trade.

Hi, I would go to a firm locally that makes PVC doors/windows etc. They will probably give you a bit if you take a small jar with you. If not they will direct you to the correct product.

Hi Davy T, It is very easy to repair your door frame, but depends is it a damage or crack. Also you didn't mention what color are your doors, because it is important to choose a transparent or wite color of special glue or repair set. But anyway, let me explain to you what you should look for. Depends on damage you have two different type of sets to repair your door. You have PVC Adhesive, and they are COSMOFEN PLUS HV - Transparent or COSMOFEN PLUS HV - Weiss White. COSMOFEN PLUS is suitable for quick, constructional bonding of hard PVC materials like water bars, additional profiles and strips, blind components, gutters or pipes.Special adhesives are available for special applications such as combining material like hard PVC and Renolit surfaces or for bonding coextruded profiles (trocal, gealan). But if you have just small demage you can use COSMOFEN RM. It is repair mass! Damaged and false holes in PVC profiles can be fixed very quickly and securely with this repair mass (liquid resin and powder). COSMOFEN RM is available in white. COSMOFEN RM hardly shrinks whilst hardening. Even when the damage is vertical or large, the high viscosity of COSMOFEN RM (thixotrope) prevents the mass from running. The repair mass ensures an excellent adhesion. Casks: COSMOFEN RM is supplied in a set with ready to use portions including mixing spatulas. I am buying that in Europe in Germany, but in the USA you can find that at Weiss USA, LLC. P.O. Box 509 Monroe, North Carolina 28111-0509 Phone: (704) 282-4496 Fax: (704) 289-7091 or just go to visit thier US web site with more information about products they have. As owner of small factory for producing uPVC windows I am using every single day their products and I can recommend them. In the signature box you have web addresses
