My central air conditioner fan is not spiining?
Last week I realized the coils were frozen.. Called a guy who said the accumulator needed to be replaced. I have to wait to have it done, it is $300! But he did add freon and it was working great for a few days. Went out to look at the unit because it seemed to be running constantly, and saw the fan blades are not spinning! Does anyone know what the heck it means??

When you say the coils were frozen I would assume you mean the indoor coils. The outdoor coils won't freeze unles you have a heat pump that was actually operating in heating. However, the suction line and even the compressor itself can ice up from two conditions: Lack of air flow across the evaporator, or a shortage of refrigerant due to a leak. Since you need a new accumulator, that would indicate that you do have a refrigerant leak, since there's really nothing else with an accumulator that can go bad. Since the unit has been running constantly without doing much cooling, then it would appear it's too low on refrigerant again. Some units use a pressure control to operate the outdoor fan. You'll usually find it on larger units (5 tons or more). If the unit has lost enough refrigerant, the compressor will run, but there won't be enough pressure to bring on the fan. If you don't have a pressure control on the unit, then you most likely have a defective fan motor. It's best if you just turn the cooling off on the thermostat until the proper repairs can be made. Eventually you'll get too much air in the system, and have a compressor fail as well.

Probaby running constantly because fan motor is bad. If the condenser is not cooled then the ac won't cool down the house.

not sure of your system , my guess you have a bad fan capactiior, open the service door and see if you have two silver canister, one for fan one for compressor. if you see one that looks explored replace it or have it replaced
