Does all automotive technician can fix any car problem?
I just wanted to know if all automotive technician knows to fix all different types of car that we all use today wether it's old or new they still know how to fix the car! So what kind of technician are this called I know there's a name for that kind of job? Some mechanics that I see can fix any car but they said it's easy they explain it but it's complicated. Is it based on ur experience too or can you just learn it all in one.

No, there are specialists, just like Doctors. If you have a Trans problem you go to a Transmission place, a reg, tech might have an idea what is wrong But still you go to the specialists....

No, it depends if it falls in the area of their expertise. Thats like saying a Chinese chef is good at cooking all types of food of every other country. i.e french, italian or domestic.

Also, most modern cars have complex computer systems, and you need the appropriate hardware to connect to it and resolve some issues. The hardware is really expensive, so some independent mechanics specialise if one or a few makes of cars. simpler mechanical work is much more generic, so a mechanic could replace the brakes on any make.
