You would do much better with American Standard (Trane) I was never impressed at all with amana a/c they make good refrigerators though.

Amana is OK. I believe it was bought out by Goodman which is considered not as good. Trane is very expensive. It's probably double the money. Also expensive to repair. And every other HVAC tech will have his favorite brand or two (usually those that he install). So the best way to go is to get 3-4 estimates from different installers. It's free. When they come you will have a chance to ask about different brands and much more. Here is a great advice on how to hire AC installers:
