Has anyone ever used the Angelcare movement sensor for their newborn? I have seen and read many great reviews for this product, and I want to know if it really works.Sometimes you wonder if the reviews you read are real or not, and I think this would be worth the investment (not that it's much.) I do wonder if this product works as well as it claims to, and any input would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!!
Reply Hannah's mommy I had this monitor when my daughter was young. She was sleeping on her belly at 6 weeks due to health issues. The monitor worked OK, I had a few false alarms that went off and scared me half to death. Once the baby can move around a bit in the crib (which my daughter did fairly early), if they move off the sensor pad, it will go off.
I don't think that I will use it again for my next child.
Oh, piece of advice if you do use it, place the sensor pad on a piece of plywood under the mattress, it makes it a bit more stable and less likely to go off.
lillilou We did. Somtimes it was even too sensitive and we'd race out of bed.
We had a preemie with apnea early on, so it helped to ease our mind. We still use it at 2 & 3. It can help detect if they climb out of bed - little stinkers.
kissyh14 I do use the Angel care monitors. I used them with my daughter when she was a baby 3 1/2 years ago and I am now using it with my son.
I absolutely love the monitor!! In my opinion they work great!!
It really helped me to sleep at night knowing if my baby stopped breathing for what ever cause it would alarm.
Sometimes when the baby is bigger and starts to roll around a little bit you may get some false alarms because the baby may roll off of the sensor pad. But in my mind I would rather have a false alarm then a real one.
My son has a breathing problem so I am still using it and he is almost a year old. Oh my Gosh he will be a year old next week. Boy the time flys. Since he already has a breathing issue I use it all the time but especially when he gets sick because he ends up getting croup, which is very scary. We almost always have to take him to the hospital for breathing treatments for that.
All I have to say is I love the Angel Care Monitor and I totally recommend it!!!
