Today's Discussion

What could I do with my awesome stuffed animal collections?
I am cleaning/depack-ratting my bedroom & I have3 big laundry bags full of my stuffed monkey/chimpanzees of all neon colors & Penguins of every size & Teddy Bears too. What do I do with them because I CANNOT throw them away! They are so nice! Any Ideas? Please dont say donate them at christmas, no one wants a used stuffed monkey for christmas. OMG! How am I gonna choose a best answer? U all have given some great ideas. I like taking a pic and giving out 4 halloween & I like the jungle and net and bingo... I am gonna ponder now... thanx!

Unstuff them!

contact a childrens hospital. They might be interested.

*** what about to the police station (they give toys to the scared lil girls and boys when they have to haul mommy and daddy off to the slammer)? and i'm thinking you could give some to the hospital for the kids who are scared and have to stay in there. and...hmmm, where else? what about to ...ummmm....can't think, but i will

I had the same problem, nobody wants them so I just stored them for years but in the end I sadly threw them away.

A child that is not going to get anything for christmas because his or her family is poor would love to have one of those stuffed animals. They won't care that it is used. I can't think of one other thing you can do with those stuffed animals other than donating them to Goodwill or some other charity.

get you some cool nets and hang them from the ceiling out of the way but you can still see them. HOWS THAT?

Olivia
Take them to a nursing home, they use them as prizes for bingo games. I did this and it was a big hit!

Pirate Girl
Donate them to the Goodwill or the Salvation Army or give them to children in your neighborhood or have a yard sale....

Geri H
Either sell them on Ebay or take them to a local children's hosptial or a nursury.

I know you said not to say donate them at Christmas. But I am going to any way. Donate them to the Battered Women's Shelter. Most of these women have children with them. During the Holidays a lot of domestic violence occurs due to all the Holiday drinking. These children are pulled from their homes and taken into hiding at Christmas with nothing but the clothes on their back. They would love to have a used stuffed monkey to cuddle during this sad and fearful time of their lives.

Sell them on e-Bay as a whole lot.

donate them to a childrens hospital or a day care

You would be surprised at the kids that won't have , give them to a church or charity, make a child smile. They are so pleased of anything. Happy Thanksgiving.

rossj12003
Why not give them to the shoe box operation. Many needy children would be happy to have them.

You probably have a freecycle in your area just put on an ad to give them away to someone who wants them. Best of all they come to you. This is a free service and the only thing is that you have to give them away for free.

Cherry
If you don't want to keep them, you could always check out freecycle (www.freecycle.org) or have a yard sale.

hellanbach
give them to a kindergarten or primary school. if they are very clean even a hospital childrens ward should welcome them

spaceindian2
You can donate them to a hospital for the Diabetic Ward and/or contact the nurses at a Diabetic Clinic, as they can be used to help adults and children learn how to use needles, and/or help a child adjust to their disease by having a cute companion they can pick out themselves to help them adjust to their life's transitions. Thanks for asking.

This probably will sound crazy but hand them out at Halloween, instead of candy.

mogger
I have and idea Please give them to the toys for tots.Christmas is coming real soon.

justcurious
take a nice group picture or even individuals if you want. Make an album or hang a huge poster size picture on your wall and then donat them to a womens shelter. When kids arrive they like toys to cuddle.

Mary Smith
a child who has nothing else would love a used stuffed monkey for christmas, maybe you don;t as you have so much but there are children who don't get anything. Give them to your local fire department who donate them to these charities.

If you have a extra room or large closet create a jungle for them It might look silly but after 3 bags full of neon monkeys silly has long past

judy_derr38565
You can donate them, it is better than throwing them away, look for a church or charity that gives gifts to families that can't afford Christmas gifts , there are children that would really appreciate them...goodwill sells used stuffed animals all the time, but why not donate to the underprivileged?
