o_o I've been wondering that, too. I was watching this show and they were like, "All artists draw/picture nude people" o_o; Maybe the nude women are safer to see than the nude men since you know... o_O;

well, the pics are done by men probably, that's why the nudity is female instead of male. I doubt if there was more nudity in ancient times than nowadays in art. in the old days it was, like in Greek culture where they used to do sports not wearing cloths, not considered a bad thing. maybe christianity taught us to cover up. in contemporary art nudity sometimes is used provocative, and even criticized as far as exhibitions canceled because of it. it's a recent development, stretching to people asking for famous old paintings to be hidden because of nudity. to me, that's totally insane.

because it was a man that made the picture and what man want every one to know that they have a nude man picture or a nude woman is usually pretty but when you see one of a nude man its not so pretty it scares small children

Women have much more beautiful bodies then men, artistically speaking. The soft, gentle curves are a wonder to the eye. Men's bodies are utilitarian, made to do a job. Guys are like jeeps or humvees, women are like a Ferrari or a Mercedes.

Painting and antique photography was mostly done by men. Some of it, especially the photography, had the same motivations that modern pin-up art has. Homo-erotic male nude photography was made, but it faced discrimination, and was much more likely to be intentionally destroyed or thrown away in the past 100+ years.

there are tons of old pictures on nude men, lots even taken by thomas edison. i'm guessing if you're only seeing naked females, you're looking at heterosexual male oriented sites, or not doing a complete websearch. Keep looking there's a lot out there, although I can't imagine why you'd want to see them except for historical value.
