Today's Discussion

For any (action) figure collectors out there?
Is it really worth it when the figure costs more than 50 dollars? I found this figure i really want from Appleseed Ex Machina, and the price for it is anywhere between 150 to 250. Dark Knight figures are from 90 to 150. With prices like that are you really getting your money's worth out of it?

The questions you have to ask yourself to validate buying it are: 1. Are you buying it in hopes it will be worth more one day? If so, its not worth it as most action figures today are mass produced and will never be really worth more than retail price. If its some type of limited edition or special release, I guess there is always a chance. 2. How bad do you want it? If your a collector and really want the figure badly, why not. Always consider what else a few hundred $$ can buy you instead though before buying it. 3. Can you afford it? Hey if your having trouble paying the bills, you might want to reconsider blowing that much $$ on it. If you have money to burn, then go for it.

See my previous answers listed on my profile as "Best Answers" as the previous writer is correct: if you're speculating & can't afford it then you're better off not trying to buy such expensive figures. The key to collecting is to buy what you like. If it becomes more valuable, then it's gravy. And if not you still have an awesome collection of goodies than make you happy. Blessings, Jaime
