An Arch Floor Lamp Will Add Character to Any Room

Having an arch floor lamp in a room is a great way to add a lot of character and trendy style. Since these lamps are somewhat strange looking, they are also great conversation starters.

There are many different styles that you can choose from, so it isn't difficult to find something that will match the rest of you décor.

For a while, most of these floor lamps were very modern looking. They generally come straight up from the floor, and then they have anywhere between three and six arms coming off the base.

These curve out and can usually be positioned to provide just the right lighting by chairs, desks, or tables. While many of these lamps are still very modern, some are being made to give a more traditional effect.

Black finishes are some of the most popular that you can find in these lamps, along with polished or brushed chrome. Most of the time the lampshades match the rest of the lamp. If you are looking for something a little different you can sometimes find an arch floor lamp that has a metal base and arms, but glass lampshades.

Today's Discussion

where can I find more information on my 8ft. chrome arched floor lamp?
It has a large rectangular heavy metal base, approx. an 8 ft. chrome 2 piece arch, and about a 12 - 14 inch chrome or stainless ball suspended from a 1/4 round piece of stainless honeycomb. The interior of the ball and 1/4 round is painted white and has an off white/tan ceramic socket. The wiring and round push button floor switch is all original and still work great! The painted interior has quite a few scratches because everytime it attacks me, the sharp edges of the honeycomb dig in. It has a few minor scratches and 2 small dents on the exterior of the ball from the FIRST time it attacked me 20+ years ago. Its a great conversation piece and I can't seem to find another one like it anywhere on this "web" thing. Somebody, HELP!

Local lighting store, one specializing in just lighting. Look under the base for any manufacturer's marks.
