Most LPs, have an arch top, with a "crown" to the top of the guitar. These are the ones with a mahogany body, with a curved Maple top glued on. The flat top LPs are just that. The top of the guitar, is completely flat. And are all mahogany wood bodies. Real vintage LPs with a flat top, are either called an LP Special, or LP Junior, and use P-90 pickups. During the '80's Gibson started making many various models, and the Les Paul Special guitars, could be any thing, arch or flat top, any pickup. Ignore the thumbs down that I'll be getting from the pirates with multiple IDs, that like to steal music from musicians and writers. My answer is correct. edit Wirftgu knows better than that. there are a few rappers and hop hoppers, that don't like the fact that I think that stealing copyright music is wrong. He (and they) follow me around, and give me thumbs down, on any answer I give, even though they are correct and legal. I have been on here for years, and had no problem, then all of a sudden, a couple months ago, I start getting 10, 20, 30 thumbs down, on ANY answer I give. I get insults from fake names in Europe, even though I never insult (first) I came on here, because it was fun to help out kids, with questions no one else knew the answer to. And I can not understand, why so many people think it's OK to steal from musicians. The thumbs down I get, aren't from other musicians, so I don't really care about them. But I do have better things to do, than argue with a bunch of kids, that think they should get everything for free. Did you ever notice, that there is more violence and hate in the rhh section, than in all the others put together? If you and your 3 or 4 friends get of my back, I'll stay out of the rhh section. You can all steal from each other all you want.
