What type of archery bow do you reccomend?
I am about to start archery and I am unsure of which bow is the least expensive and easiest to use. I was thinking about using a recurve bow but I really dont know. Help? Any tips on archery you reccomend? Places to get the materials needed? Thanks

For the most part, I use long bows. They aren't very popular any more, though, so it is hard to find them in any stores. Unless you want a kid bow, and then they're everywhere. Compound bows are the bows I saw the most when I was shopping for a new long bow. Because it is what everyone else is using, that is probably your best bet for finding one at a good price. I don't really know anything about any bows except long bows, so all I know about recurve bows is from Ranger's Apprentice.

Hey, welcome to the sport of archery! If you want to start off using a recurve, I'd suggest the Martin Saber Take Down or Martin Jaguar Take Down. These bows are of good quality and the takedown feature means you can break them down for easy storage and transport - not all recurves do this. You could buy a kit for one of these bows and have an all-in cost of about $200. The below site sells these bows and will do free shipping for orders of $200 or more. There are some good beginner articles on the site too. Best of luck!

Hello Someone, Archery is a great sport, and like any sport you have to start on the right track. A bow has to be fitted to you, There are alot of places that you can order a bow from, Cabelas sporting goods, Bass pro shop, Lancaster Archerey. But honestly its not gonna do you any good if you buy something thats not fitted to you. A recurve is a great starter bow, theres one out called an Internature, its a take down bow( breaks down for easy transportation) and sells for about 120.00. I would recommend visiting a local archery shop( if theres one near you), and have them help you out. You have to know your draw length(how far you can pull the string back), to have a proper anchor point and your draw weight( how much tension the bow has when you pull the string) you want to be able to shoot comfortably. Its easy to order a bow online, but if you want your archery experience to be the best it can be, start off right and visit an archery pro shop. They usually give you a free lesson with the purchase of a bow, Best of luck .. hope this helps.. A fellow archer
