Late Archery Season For Whitetail?
I am a freshmen at college and I have not had off at all for the early archery season, or for rifle which really ticks me off. This year will be the first year that i plan on hunting the second archery/muzzleloader season. I have never hunted this before, because it was too cold and i never needed to i always got a deer earlier. I live in pennsylvania and i plan on hunting about every day of the 2 weeks or most of the days because it will give me something to do during intermission. My question is for the people who have hunted the second season what changes as far as the hunting goes? Do you guys still hunt out of tree stands as in early archery, what scents do you guys since rut is probably over? All of the general information anything can help Thanks

do not bet on the rut being over ok,, pay att. to your clothes as in string hitting them,,hunt the same areas as you did,, try some grunting,,,,,, i would still hunt after 9-10 am

Good news...you get to hunt mid week and the weather is colder... less folks in the woods. Timing the rut is a very local thing... ask around. Bad news... late season deer are extra wary... now days we have a early archery, youth, youth archery, blind guy with black powder... get my drift? Those deer have seen a lot of traffic since October with all the "early" seasons we have these days. The good bucks that are left are "survivors" at this point and they didn't get that way being stupid. That puts you on your "a game". Remember the basics... keep the wind on your back and stay in the woods. The other guy posted about mid day hunting... I have seen mid day deer about on weekdays myself--- they know when the pressure is off a little bit
