You already know as much as I do. Look it up in an encyclopedia.

Art Deco was a 1920's fashion, think Odeon cinimas, streamlined trains. Poirot era. The top of the Empire state building. Art Deco was a popular design movement from 1920 until 1939, affecting the decorative arts such as architecture, interior design, and industrial design, as well as the visual arts such as fashion, painting, the graphic arts, and film. This movement was, in a sense, an amalgam of many different styles and movements of the early 20th century, including Constructivism, Cubism, Modernism, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau, and Futurism. Its popularity peaked during the Roaring Twenties. Although many design movements have political or philosophical roots or intentions, Art Deco was purely decorative. At the time, this style was seen as elegant, functional, and ultra modern.

One of the featured questions on the home page mentions art deco. Try searching previous questions and use wikipedia. The internet has made homework so much easier and you still want someone else to do your research!

Art Deco celebrates the machine-age.The growing impact of the machine can be seen in repeating and overlapping images from 1925; and in the 1930s, in streamlined forms derived from the principles of aerodynamics. The name came from the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs Industriels et Modernes, held in Paris, which celebrated living in the modern world. It was popularly considered to be an elegant style of cool sophistication in architecture and applied arts which range from luxurious objects made from exotic material to mass produced, streamlined items available to a growing middle class.

Do you kids never set foot in a library anymore? That's where I would start. It's the old traditional method of research and you might actually enjoy the experience. And get a bit of exercise at the same time. Get away from the computer, youngster. It doesn't necessarily offer the answer to everything. Open your eyes. Expend a little of your grey matter. Books are good for you. Writers take time to gather information and lay it out in an informative way for readers. Their aim is to allow you to learn from their work, which is what you need to do. I can assure you that there is not one person online here now thinking, "I'm a renowned Art Deco expert - I really hope someone on Yahoo answers needs to ask me a question today." Embrace the challenge of actually learning rather than hoping to click a mouse, hit a few keys and have someone hand you answers.

I know nothing about it, I put it in the search engine. You should try that.
