Culture usually determines what is considered attractive. Different people and countries have different ideas about what is beautiful and what is ugly. It is in the eye of the beholder.

100% in agreement. what is foreign ,legally acquired,got positive promotion or associated with something heroic, exotic, pure , good breeding would always be sought for. every one always wants something not "laspag"( over used).

As stated previously "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" What you say may apply in the US but most certainly doesn't apply here in Australia. I think that a lot of the comments like "foreigners only pick the 'ugly' Filipinas" are made by jealous Filipino's that have missed the chance or opportunity to snag a foreigner. So their reasoning is that they are prettier and that is why they missed out.

Disagree completely. The way most people think of beauty is personal, rather than cultural. Filipinos are accustomed to hearing/seeing anyone different as a cut above and it should be discouraged. It is analogous to saying that an apple is better than an orange. I see beauty in all races and ethnicitys - native Filipinas and mixed. Whoever said "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" could not have been more accurate.

i completely disagree and agree with you, some foreigners really pick the pretty ones and most of them pick the undescribable one... congratulations to foreigners who pick pretty ones. and to those who, aybe they just want young that could take good care of them like they re looking for a caregiver/maid or anything (no offense).

What is ugly to you , I have been in the Philippines and I have meet many women , some are drop dead gorgeous , most are beautiful and I meet some who really needed to take better care of them self. When I was in the Philippines 4 years ago getting ready to get married , my wife was and still the most beautiful, loving woman in my eyes and that is what is important . I meet some of her friends that by the world"s scale that would be upper "9" to "10" but few of them lost rating after I started to talk and spend time with them. Ugly is a mean, self concerned person who thinks they are better than the world. I talked with many older ladies and they are the most beautiful people I ever met inside and out for the reason that they are them self and proud of that. And the younger women I found the mass to be beautiful. I have to disagree with you for the fact of what i seen with my own eyes .

Some like it hot and some like it cold. Ugly or Beauty...that's a matter of opinion. In my opinion, I would blame it on the media especially those narrow-minded, hateful, and overpaid people sitting at the top for promoting, conditioning, and proliferating hate and racism among human beings to make their buck. It's just sad that only a few people can see through this. I'd have to disagree with you with regard to "Mexican- lowest classes in America" Only insecure, again...narrow-minded, and someone who watches too much T.V. and read magazines would entertain such ideas in their stupid heads. That's what's wrong with a society that let's T.V. and magazines dictate their lives. People don't know how to THINK anymore. We are already in the 21st century, for goodness sake. When one says America or American, it doesn't refer to just the Caucasian population anymore. America is a melting pot of Native Americans,Europeans, Asians, Africans, Australians, etc. In every race and culture, there will always be something to nitpick about. It's not fair to judge an entire race or culture based on what one person of the same race does. I don't see anything wrong with "cleaners" or "atsays"....the ones who make the nasty and filthy mess should be ashamed of themselves for being such slobs. Do those same people who wipe their own bums after they defecate think they're actually better than "cleaners" or "atsays"?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What may be pretty in your eyes may be ugly for others. In most European countries, and in America, white "caucasian" features are very ordinary. So the people from these places usually find brown-skinned, petite, asian features as more attractive. In Asia, brown-skinned, petite, asian features are very ordinary. So the people from these Asian countries find white, tall, caucasian features as very attractive. I presume that you came from an Asian country (considering that your preference for beauty is one who has white-skinned, caucasian features). There's a Chinese proverb: You always long for something that you don't normally see or have. What there is plenty around you, you tend to ignore. What there's not, you tend to want it.
