Today's Discussion

What is the name of this toy astronaut?
I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me identify a toy with - at best - a very limited description of the details. I thought if anyone could, someone on this group might be able to help. Here goes: Sometime between 1969 and 1972 or so I had a toy astronaut with a flying saucer attached to it. It was probably about four or five inches high. I am thinking the head of the astronaut, as best I can recall, resembled a modern day bobble head doll and may have had some sort of helmet. The helmet may or may not have been removable. The body was made of a dark grey fabric that was similar to a stocking. You put your fingers through an opening in the back into the "legs." For some reason I think you could also put your fingers in the back for the arms, but I'm not sure about that. Lastly, the midriff of the astronaut's stocking body had a light grey, hard plastic, flying saucer attached to it. The saucer may have been about four inches in diameter

The person inside of it itself would probally have to be Neil Armstrong or Buzz Aldrin.
