What is the standard rack-mount depth for mounting professional audio amplifiers?
What is the standard rack-mount depth for mounting professional audio amplifiers? I have an audio rack now, but its too deep for my amps and i cannot mount the rear of my amps. The amps I work with are easily over 50lbs so I must be able to mount to the rear, but I do not know what the depth is that I'm supposed to buy.

You may have a hard time finding a rack that will be the exact depth you need. You can mount those amps in any rack - what you need is some extra lengths of "rack rails". It is the same as the rack rails that are mounted in your rack but these are just the metal part: What you do is mount these to the rear of the amps while the fronts of the amps are mounted in the normal way. The bottom of the rack rail will need to be supported somehow. With the rack rails, the rack can be any depth and you still can support the back of the amps. Keep in mind that even heavy amps are usually designed to be supported from the front only. It will tell you in the instructions if the amp needs rear support.

Multichannel audio using AES3

Existing AES3 distribution amplifiers might be compatible , provided they can carry the higher rates, and sample rate converters if present are disabled. Large audio routers would need to be adapted to handle the new signal.
