What is "paint supplies labor" in auto body estimating?
What does "Paint Supplie Labor" ential in Auto Body repair estimates? I recently had an accident so I took my car into a body shop to be repaired. I was charged roughly 10 hours of paint labor, and another 10 hours for "paint supplies labor". My question is, what is paint supplies labor? It sounds like the amount of time it took to source the paint for the vehicle. If that's the case, does it seem that I was ripped off?

It is an average price for paint supplies converted to hours. They do this to more easily compute the estimate. Forget the "labor" terminology. Goes to show how efficient a body shop has to be, because the paint supplies are not charged on what is used but rather on an average per paint hour. It is how insurance companies can advertise "we save you 15%", they screw the shops and techs.
