heb's should have some that are very small and have a protective coating on the mouth part. keeps them from hurting their new teeth and gums

Many people have this problem, so dont feel stupid. I always bring a spoon with me that has some rubbery coating on the peice that goes into the mouth. So it dosent dammage gums as well as the new incomming teeth. Sorry but i dont know where i got them, nor what they are called. Sorry if i didnt help. ~Xavier

We use Gerber spoons -- rubber-coated and really shallow. Somebody gave them to us but they are available at a lot of stores.

I used the First Years Take and Toss spoons. They have different levels so i used the 4mo ones at first and now at 17mo my daughter uses the ones made for older babies. They are great, cheap and you can get them pretty much anywhere, plus they come in packs of 10 or so, so you have a lot of them. Ive gotten them at Walmart, Target and Babies R Us.

The first spoons I got for my daughter were the plastic two-toned Munchkin spoons and they were too deep for her mouth as well. I switched to the metal spoons that had the rubber coating on them. They are usually in the pastel colors, and they are somewhat flatter than the ones I had first bought. I know Gerber and Munchkin both make them.
