Baby Wrap?
I have been using the snugli carrier, but my son is getting bigger so i want to switch to a wrap like the moby wrap or maya. My son is 11 months and 19 pounds. Which one of these wraps are the best or another brand. Also what size should i get. I am 5'0 120lbs. Is the padded versions better. Are they complicated to figure out I have never used these, but heard some pretty rave reviews about them. Any way any thing y'all can tell me about them would be helpful. Thanks: ]

I would check out ebay. They have really nice ones on there that are very cost effective. I have seen where they will do custom ones accord to how tall you are.

I used a "ring sling" that I purchased off of eBay when my daughter was younger. Now that she is almost 7 months old and 16 lbs. I use a wrap. I made my own out of a 60" wide piece of jersey cotton that was 5 yards long, I cut it into (3) 20" strips, and now I have 3 wraps. I like these because they are so versatile. You can find instructions, pictures, & videos on how to make and use them on the following websites: www.mamatoto.org (this one is difficult to navigate) www.gypsymama.com www.thebabywearer.com Good luck :)

My husband & I both adored using the Playtex Hip Hammock. It's like a sling but it positions your baby right on your hip. I had a much easier time doing household chores while using it rather than a conventional sling. I really liked how snug I could make it. My husband especially loved using it and would grab our son the minute he came home from work and wear him around. We were both bummed when our son outgrew it--he's 3 years old and 40 pounds now. I have to admit though, that after a while, all of these carriers would make either my shoulder or back hurt.

I have a moby wrap and I love it!!! I like all of the different holds you can do with it. There is even one where you can wear the baby on your back. The post about making your own, was a really good idea though!! Good luck.

Go for the Moby wrap. It is so comfortable to wear. The weight is evenly distributed across your shoulders, back and waist. A sling is easy to use and quick to put on, but it tends to strain the shoulder that it is resting on. Although the Moby looks a bit daunting to use at first, it is actually very easy to put on. I actually put it on a little differently than they say, and this makes it so much easier for me to use and have it fit my baby! My baby is only 6 months old but weighs around 18 lbs. So she is of similar weight to your baby. I have no problem with wearing her for a long time in the Moby but can only go for a short time with the sling. Check and see if there is a store (your best bet is a baby boutique) in your area that sells these carriers and then you can try them out and see which is most comfortable to you!

BABY TALK: Cleaning baby's teeth
Bradenton Herald
When you are bathing your baby you can wrap a soft wet cloth around your finger and gently rub your baby's gums. This will feel good to your baby as well as get him used to having his gums rubbed. Babies start the teething process around 3 1/2 months.
