craftown.com will give you a tutorial for beading and perhaps there are sites for books but you asked for beads and this site advertises selling beading at a low cost and they may have the books you will be looking for. EDIT Scroll to the bottom of the page and on the left side they have some of the information you are looking for as far as patterns and it implies they are free .

You should be able to find your basic supplies at any craft store. However, your post seriously makes me wonder--what kind of beads are you talking about? The only kind I know that involves ironing are perler beads, and that's a whole other kettle of fish. You need a special sheet between the iron and the beads to make them stick--should be available anywhere they sell perler beads (again, craft stores).
