Mehndi - also called "henna tattoos" - is a type of body art that gained popularity in the West during the 1990s. The name henna tattoos is a little misleading as this type of body art tattoo is not permanently inked into the skin as it is done with the traditional type of tattoo, but is a temporary form of body art that done using a dye that is derived from the henna plant which is native to the desert regions of the Middle East, Africa, and India.

While Mehndi body art has been traditionally used for special occasions such as festivals and weddings, many individuals are now creating their own unique style of body art tattoos that represent various things such as their religion, a significant event in their lives, or various other types of symbolism. This form of body decoration has become popular all over the globe for several reasons including the fact that anyone can learn how to create their very own unique designs and apply them at home. While these tattoos are not permanent, they typically last for a period of three to four weeks at which time an individual can choose to re-apply the same design or create another.

Mehndi tattoos can also be applied by a professional who specializes in the art of Mehndi tattooing; however, many individuals have learned how to apply their own tattoos with their very own creative designs. Traditional Mehndi designs include geometrical shapes, floral patterns, and intricate designs created out of fine lines and are typically tattooed on the hands or feet, however, any type of design can be created and applied anywhere on the body. If you are interested in learning how you can create and apply your very own body art tattoos utilizing the henna dye, you can do so today by visiting us!

Covering the body is art, having a few slogans in fancy fonts is artistic but not art . Give me a body covered in beautiful well done tattoos any day over a few words.

doesnt matter what you call it.... to some people any tattoo is extreme.. to others even full body coverage with tattoos is considered art its like a painter who only paints a picture in the middle of his canvas...it is still called art... or the painter who uses his whole canvas covered ..it is still called art it is only based on your perception of what art is

All tattoo's are self-expression. Even rubbish ones, they all something about that person. And yes, of course it is art as its design and drawing, except permanently on somebody. Every one has a different view on it and some people are against it, and plenty are for it, but even if a person covers their hands, neck face and whole body, its still their body to do it. Just the same as someone having their hair cut a certain way, it expresses them and how they feel. It may be extreme, but to that person it may seem normal. Everyone can choose how they look and what THEY want to do to themselves. I wait loads of the people on here that slag people off who have tattoos saying your never going to get a job and your stupid for getting one. That is absolute rubbish and its not their body so it doesn't matter, if you think its art, then its art. Simple as that. :)

Art never stops. Art is subtle and extreme. It is all art whether its to your fancy or not.
