Brake Caliper?
I saw that my brake caliper's piston has a crack that makes about 15% of the piston wiggle. Therefore it is cracked all the way through. Do you think that is the reason I am losing so much brake fluid? I plan on changing it, only in the middle of nowhere parts need to be ordered.

Yes it is , be sure to fix it and be sure to clean the brakes thoroughly too. Hope that helps and best of luck.

chris
more than likely. i would replace the whole thing. as soon as possible

whether its the reason your loosing so much fluid is really insignificant. If you see a crack in any of your brake stuff, fix it now. Then go back and check to see if anything else is broken. Always check for leaks and try to pinpoint where they're coming from. check the insides of your tires. If there are significant leaks they always leak there.

change the calliper's resurface the rotter's and have your front wheel bearing's check and repack with grease.

of course that is the reason you are loosing brake fluid (there might be other leaks too). a craked caliper piston will leak, get it replaced along with the pads as they will be oil soaked. have the whole system checked.
