The Braun Oral B toothbrush was originally introduced in 1950 and has been the dentists choice for brighter, cleaner teeth ever since.

Originally patented in 1950 by a California periodontist named Dr. Robert Hutson.

The first toothbrush made was the Oral-B 60, so named because it was using 60 tufts of bristle and became the basis of Hutson's family business.

History was marked by this toothbrush, which saw historical moments itself. In 1969, the Oral-B took a trip to the moon during the Apollo 11 mission.

There were many other historical moments that were marked by this toothbrush. Soon, the Oral-B Right Angle was released, designed to make it easier to reach the back teeth.

By 1984, Oral-B had been purchased by Gillette and soon they released a power toothbrush that featured a combination of a vertical movement, as well as a horizontal movement.

It made history again when the Oral-B was molded into the Star Wars toothbrush children. Two years later, it became the spokes-brush for the Muppets, as Oral-B released the Muppets toothbrush and toothpaste.

Over the years, the Oral-B modified its appearance, as well as its performance with specifications from dentists, marking itself again, as the favored toothbrush of dentists. In 2005, Gillette was acquired by Procter and Gamble and the company has continued innovating the field of dental hygiene through the Braun Oral B toothbrush, ever since.
