I need a portable campfire grill but I don't want one of those small round tripod hanging ones any other ideas
I am looking for ideas on one to either build or buy. I don't like the round ones that hang from the tripod because they are not that stable. But I would like one that is adjustable. Anyone have some ideas that I could work with?

Without knowing at all the various models sold, I might try going direct to Coleman. They make a decent product and sell camp stoves as well as camp grilles. Just my two "sense"

I'd go with Coleman...I have one and it works great. We take it on all of our camping trips and my husband uses it to cook dinner on (he's an over the road driver). So it get used on a constant basis and never had a problem.

You should keep looking, they also make several that stand on legs and fold up flat. After seeing one, IF you can weld, you could easily build one. I suggest a minimum of 3/16 rod, on 3/8 spacing if you build one. You can also use 'double' cake cooling racks set over rocks, but they are not very heavy and won't last long.
