Would it be a good idea to trade my 1 oz Canadian Maple Leaf for smaller maple leaf coins?
I'd like to know what more experienced bullion investors think. I have a 2011 1 troy ounce gold Canadian Maple Leaf at this time, but I'm considering trading it for smaller size gold maple leaf coins. What do you guys think?

Are you an idiot? You bought the coin for its bullion value. All that happens if you trade them is that you pay someone transactions fees to turn your 1 oz of gold into, uh, 1 oz of gold. Why would you think of doing that?

Why would you want to do that?? What's the point of doing this. You want to trade your 1 oz maple leaf for what, four 1/4 oz maple leafs?? Other than giving extra money to the coin dealer, I guess I can't see what you're trying to accomplish here?? I have half-a-dozen 1 oz. (gold) Krugerrands, and I have no interest in trading them for smaller coins.

Dave
Keep the 1oz Maple Leaf. It is a desirable coin. You should continue to add silver coins to your collection.
