Can you replace a standard car air filter with a HEPA-grade car air filter?
I have a 2005 Honda Civic EX. I interested in an car filter solution that would filter out allergens/pollen from the air coming into the car from the air conditioning unit.

yes, I believe there are different levels/qualities of cabin air filters available. Check at your local parts store, they should be able to order something.

I just hope you are talking about the cabin air filter. If so, then you would just have to find one made for your car. Otherwise you'd be looking at some pricey custom work.

Your car comes equipped with two cabin air filters. They are located behind the glovebox. You can access them by opening your glovebox and removing the two brackets on either side. Squeeze them from the one side and pull from the other. Then you can swing the glovebox down fully out of the way. There will be a cover for the filters, pop that off and slide the filters out. As far as replacing them with Hepa filters, my best guess would be to measure them and try to find someplace that sells them or manufactures them. I think the cost in the longrun will not be worth it. Is there a specific reason you are in need of hepa filters? The factory cabin air filters are sufficient enough in myh opinion but not up to a hepa filter spec.
