Take some electronics courses at your local community college. If your in the Los Angeles area El Camino has a terrific electronics program with very knowledgeable teachers. Once you have master these courses installing alarms is a cake walk. Give yourself a good base of knowledge and then let experience take over, with these courses you can do home/auto alarms no problem. Over the years you will pick up tricks but at least you will have the ability to read schematics and troubleshoot problems that may arise. We spend more time fixing other installers poor jobs because they obviously did not have a solid working knowledge of electronics. Best of LUCK!!!!
