How do you reglue a car headliner without taking it down?
I just bought a beater car for traveling back & forth to work. The headliner sags quite a bit & rests on my head; that will drive you nuts! It also blocks my rearview. I don't want to put much money into this car, & I really don't want to take the headliner down to spray the back. Is there any other way to get it to adhere to the roof again?

had a guy asking yhe same thing last week at my workshop [ upholsterer] cheapest way out is to get a second hand sunroof when u cut the hole in the roof you have access to the inside between the roof and the lining

well Ive never tried to do that but i would guess the same way you will have to pull enough material down to get the glue into place then push it back up and smooth it out however it probably wont hold you need to clean all the old glue off will be hard to do if you don't remove the whole thing

Several years ago I used a syringe and needle filled w/silicone. I shot the silicone in several places and held it in place till it dried. It didn't look the best but kept the headliner off my son-n-laws head and it stayed up for several years until he sold the car.

I would think that the sunroof would be more trouble than it's worth. You're talking about cutting a hole in the roof of a car here in order to fix a headline problem. That's like replacing the hood because the paint's fading. It only takes a few screws to drop the headliner. The material is cheap and then it goes back up easy as well. It's like a one day job. Why not try that?
