How do you drop/remove a transmission pan, on a 94 Chevy Silverado (15 bolts:5 sides 3 front 2 rear)?
Never dropped a trans pan before and not sure how to proceed. The reason we are dropping the pan is that we're trying to replace the transmission filter. We can't get to the last two bolts in the rear of the pan due to a cross beam. We don't know if we should try to remove the cross beam ( it is attached to rear of transmission, or are we missing some trick) Thanks if you can help.

Just support the transmission and remove the crossbeam is all I know to tell ya. sorry! Put the jack under the cross beam while unbolting it but keep front supported and when bolts are out lower jack.

you need to support the back of the transmission and remove the bolts to the transmission mount, lift the tranny a little more and at this point you should be able use a universal joint to get the bolts out. removing the cross member is not bad idea but a bit laborious on some of them. i have done several of these over the years. my father has a 90 step side with that trans
