Was the recent Superman returns movie better than the Christopher Reeve movies?
I think the Reeve movies were good, But I liked the newer movie, even better. How about you?

no where near as good...the guy wo played superman was to scrawny...didnt care for the movie much, wasnt bad but wasnt great...i cant beieve they are making another one for 2009 or something...Reeves movies are definetly better, nothing like the original

NO, the new movie lacked any passion or glory. It was dry supperficial and corny. The new superman looked and acted gay. It was overall weak. You cant beat the real thing!

I have yet to see the new movie. Which basicaly disqualifys my response. With that said I have heard from several sources that the new movie is NOT as good as the old movies. For myself there is no superman that can ever compare to christopher reeve. In my mind he IS superman. Older generations will disagree with me though and say that that old fat guy that played in the black and white superman is the REAL superman. For me its reeve.

newer one is much better

I thought it was better. While many people "grew up" with the older Superman movies, I didn't. ( I grew up with Batman, awesome!) I saw the movies maybe about two or three years ago. I didn't see what the big fuss was all about; the movies were not good. But this movie was way better then the older movies; I actually went to the movie theater to see it two times, which is something I don't usually do. (But Batman will always kick @ss.)

better ? never... but the fact it was made 20 years latter makes it a better film to watch , i cant say reeve was better or not, these two actors bring super man to a different level of person, i would say i prefer reeve yet the clark persona was better protrade with the current movie

This movie seemed to just be a re-vamped redo of Reeve's movies. Basically same Lex Luthor plot. (But who would live on those forsaken land crystals if he killed everyone) Anyway, aside from special effects and in memorial of Reeve, there was no point in a "remake". Reeve's Superman is far more superior and stands the test of time.

I thought the new Superman was good! The "new guy", Brandon Routh, definately did an awesome job "filling" Christopher Reeve's shoes. I love the old movies as well, and I think they definately did the old movies justice. It's great that they are keeping Superman going for new generations to look up to and enjoy. I can't wait for the new ones to come out.

I hated the original Superman films. But I loved the new version.

Visually, of course, "Superman Returns" was far superior to the 70's/80's Reeve flicks. But of the bunch, the first "Superman" was the best overall. Better cast, stronger script and more emotionally-involving characters.

reeve > routh. reeve did a convincing job of playing two completely different characters. with routh, it was so obvious, it made lois look like a complete idiot.

HT senior: 'I wasn't supposed to live'
Trussvilletribune
“I wasn't supposed to live, statistically,” Jamison said of his injuries, similar to those of Christopher Reeve, the star of “Superman: The Movie” who became a quadriplegic after being thrown from a horse in 1995. Reeve died in 2004.
