Waterloo Bridge by Claude Monet sold at auction in London for £17-million. Auctioners did not expect half this price. Your thoughts please. Also, do you think Monet was a secret Anglophile? I ask because he used to order his cook to prepare Christmas pudding at any time of the year. He described it as the most complex dish. There is some film of Monet in his garden, painting and smoking a Gouloise c1904 or thereabouts.
