A craft rubber stamp, also known as an "art stamp" or "decorative rubber stamp", is widely used in the hobby of craft making .While rubber stamps were previously used mainly for business purposes, today rubber stamps have become increasingly popular and have become an individual hobby all on its own called "rubber-stamping".

People who enjoy participating in the art of "rubber-stamping" often have very large collections of these stamps which include many different images such as animals, flowers, letters of the alphabet, and images representing the different holidays. Ink pads of many different colors are used for the transfer of the images to things such as a scrapbook, greeting cards, stationary, and even cloth.

A craft rubber stamp used with fabric paint can also be used to decorate items with hard surfaces such as hope chests, toy boxes, jewelry boxes, picture frames, and almost anything made of materials such as metal and wood.

With the larger rubber stamps you can also decorate the rooms in your home by creating decorative wall boarders, walls, and even ceilings. While people are finding ever increasing ways to use a craft rubber stamp, there are many publications such as books and magazines dedicated solely to the art of "rubber-stamping" which you can find a large variety of on internet stores such as Amazon.com.

Where can I find a retro-boomerang pattern foam or rubber craft stamp?
Hi, I am looking for a retro-boomerang pattern foam or rubber craft stamp to do some stamping on a painted kitchen cabinet. Any online stores that sell such a thing? The width can be no greater than 1 1/2 inches. Thanks

Hi: If you can't find one that already exists for what you need, and you have an image of what you would like, you can get one made or carve one out. You can also use a nice little silkscreening stuff called PhotoEZ that comes in small sheets and doesn't need to be in a frame. It is really easy to use for something like this. That's probably what I would recommend most for time saving, and cost-effectiveness and ease of use. Hope this helps you.

If you can draw or print out an image of what you want that's very black and doesn't have lots of tiny-tiny lines, you can have a stamp made of the image. Most office supply stores, and rubberstamp making stores, do this, but I like to use the ReadyStamps folks because it's helping others as well. They will make a rubberstamp sheet with all the images you can cram onto a 9x7" piece of white paper and send them for about $35... when they send the stamp sheet back, you can cut apart the iamges any way you want and mount (glue) them onto a block of wood, etc., then stamp away. More info and a link to their site is here: HTH, Diane B.
