Che helped to defeat the U.S. backed Batista regime and to unify Cuba and stop the spread of imperialism. He also helped teach Cubans to read and desegregated the Cuban schools before the U.S. did. He also worked in leper colonies as a doctor. There is a whole movie about it called the Motorcycle Diaries, watch it sometime. Yeah, Che killed people, so do OUR soldiers, , the poeple he killed wanted to rob Cuba and its people and had killed Cubans under the Batista regime . @Schmuck Cuba was already a dictatorship before Castro, only back then they were illiterate, had poor healthcare, and their money was being robbed by American imperialists who backed the Batista regime and their embargos.

He was basically Castro's chief henchman. He controlled a prison camp and executed political dissidents. Many of them personally, while their families were forced to watch. Murder of innocents is justified under communism, however.
