Currier & Ives lithograph, where to send for authenticity?
I bought a Currier & Ives framed lithograph called American Express Train at a flea market and it seems to be an original. I live in Washington state and need a place to get it evaluated to see if its an original or reproduction. It seems to be real to me..does anyone know of such a place? Its very old and seems to be in good conditon and seems a bit on the yellow patina scale. It looks to be an original frame and an original Currier & Ives sales sticker on the back and an ink stamped number in the 2000 range. Any info would be great..thanks!!

I'm not entirely sure, but I'd recommend checking with local art galleries & or museums. If they can't do it they can direct you to someone who can. I used to work in an art gallery & people would ask about authenticity & certifications on pieces they had (not bought from the gallery). We used to direct them to a local art advisor & museum curator.
