How can I keep my dash panel from cracking in the heat?
I have a '99 Trans Am WS6, and the dash panel/pad is MAJORLY cracked from, I guess, the heat. I'm about to get it replaced, and I was wondering if there was anything I can buy to spray on it, or rub on it to repel the heat. I don't think Armorall will work, lol. I don't want to buy a dash cover, and I can't find any cool windshield covers.

It is the sun and heat that causes the cracking of you dash panel, the only way to stop that is to keep it out of the sun, either by covering it or using a windshield cover or parking it in the garage or carport all the time. Amour all will slow down the process but probably won't stop it.

There are products like Armour all that have sunscreen in them and they DO protect vinyl from the suns rays. If you don't like armour all find a different product you do like. Also you could use a shade that you only put up when you are parked. They actually help reflect the sun and keep a car cooler.

keep it moistureized, it can also depend on the dash material. The most importand is keeping as much sunlight off it. Use oil based products to treat it and keep it new
