My Drivers door is stuck in lock position and rear passenger door is stuck in unlocked position, Help?
My car is a 94 Honda Civic Ferio. It has central locking, and an alarm - so I usually don't open the doors with the key or by pulling up the locks, i just press 'Unlock' on the alarm. However, now the drivers door lock is stuck down in "lock" position, and cannot be forcibly lifted up. I can no longer exit out of that door. The left rear passenger's door lock is permanently stuck up and cannot be locked at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Your lock actuators for the two doors most likely failed. Basically the lock actuator motor which moves the lock from locked to unlocked has lost its full range of motion and can no longer move far enough to activate the lock. You'll have to get them both replaced, there is really no other option. For the door that's stuck in the locked position, I've only heard of dealerships being able to get them open so that they can replace the lock actuators. For the unlocked door, you can replace it yourself to save $200 or so, but if you aren't that mechanically inclined I wouldn't try it. The lock actuators themselves are roughly $100 depending on the vehicle, but you have to rip your door panel apart to get to them. Dealerships are the only place that I know of in order to get them fixed/replaced, but they are also very expensive. I don't know about your particular vehicle, but for mine it is about $300 per lock actuator including labor. Since the one door is stuck in the locked position, dealerships also charge extra to get them unstuck. You might want to try asking around with various auto shops to see if they can do it. Sorry about the bad news, but good luck anyways.

Here's an idea for you to try.I have worked in auto body repair for 35 years and have dealt with this before.Insert the key in to the drivers door lock, grasp it with a pair of pliers or better yet Vise-Grips.Rotate it back and forth with slightly more force than would normally be used.Do this quite a few times and the locking mechanism should work itself free.It also helps to roll the window down and spray WD40 in the general area of the door latch.Obviously,be careful not to overstress the key and break it. The rear door would benefit from removing the trim panel and visually checking the layout.Spray the latch with WD40 and find a way to grasp the linkage with pliers then force it back and forth to free it.
