it will tell you Max weight ... its on the side panel as you open the drivers door.. it should be a metal plate either on just as you oprn the door whrer the latch is ... below that ... or it is in the other side of the latch

I wouldn't go over 1000 pounds in the bed. You have the power, but the big block weighs more than a small block, and the small block was rated about 1100 pounds.

The vehicle left the factory with an owner's manual that specifies the payload of this car. If in 1969 it was not then there might be information if you Google your questions. The payload of a car is the maximum additional weight a vehicle can carry in addition to the weight of the car. Most cars is about 900 pounds in this new era. For 1969 I am not sure. Tires also have a weight limit printed on the side wall of each tire. Pickup truck come rated by payload such as 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton but that includes the weight of the people, gas and oils and optional or added equipment. It all adds up. Best of luck.
