Please..can someone explain to me how electric car jack works?
for a 12V 10A electric motor car jack, how does it possible to produce a torque to withstand the weight of a car? i have calculate by using simple mechanics that the torque required at the end of the jack(radius 1.5mm) to move a 1000kg load is about 400Nm(from its lowest position where the arm is at 10degree from the horizontal). I think if you guys try to calculated the torque required it would not be the same but wouldnt go far off from mine, this required torque is too large when the motor could only provided a torque which is much less (<1Nm)

This actually just comes down to hydraulics. Electric jacks have a different force ratio (input versus output) than manual ones do and therefore require less input force (torque). The trade-off is that they require more "turns", which a motor can do faster than a person. So a motor provides more RPM, but less force per revolution. A manual (spinning type) jack requires less RPM but more force per revolution (torque).

Are you sure it's not a screw-jack? If the threads of a screw jack had a fine enough pitch, it wouldn't be much work for an electric motor to turn the screw and raise the car.

There are semi-circle indents near all four corners, which let you mount the CPI 480 to a hard surface inside your vehicle using four screws, although none are included in the box. A two-foot DC cord connects the CPI 480 to your vehicle's power jack.
