How do you get enfamil soy formula to stop clogging up the nipple while my baby is feeding?
Has anyone else noticed that when you are using a slow flow nipple and enfamil formula that the nipple will get stopped up while your baby is feeding. It is getting annoying because my son gets frustrated and I have to pull the bottle out and try a bunch of maneuvers to get it flowing again. Any ideas on how to avoid the clogs other than switching to Similac (Similac gives my kid acne)?

Warm your water before adding the powder. It helps mix it evenly.

Try upping to a medium flow nipple. If it clogs that bad then it shouldn't come out too fast I wouldn't think....

You can premix a day's worth of formula in a pitcher and store it for up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. The longer the formula is in water the more it will dissolve. Then just pour a feedings worth into a bottle when needed. If premixing you can also use hot water which helps it dissolve better, just make sure it has cooled to a warm temperature before using.

How about changing the nipple from "slow" to "medium". If the brand of nipples that you are using allows the "medium" to flow to fast, check out other brands. The flow is different for some brands.

It may not just be the formula, it might be the bottles. I had this issue with the Enfamil formula when my son was a baby, and it turned out the bottles I had were half the problem. I switched to a drop in style bottle such as Playtex drop ins, or my favorite; the Avent drop in kind. That way I could shake up the formula REALLY well and then push all the air and bubbles out of the bottle by pressing up on the drop in bag before giving it to my baby to prevent gas bubbles. I know you've tried Similac and you say it gives your little one acne, but have you tried other brands? I LOVED Nestle Goodstart. It had Whey protien, which is the easiest protein to digest, and they made a great Soy kind. You may wana try that one instead. Also, the warmer the water, the more the powder will disolve, although unfortionatly if your child is like my child, he liked it cooler. But if thats the case, pre-make a bottle with hot water and shake well, and put it in the fridge for a little while till it's cooled off. That way the bubbles all die down and the temp is perfect for baby.
