Enfamil Gentlease??
My 2 1/2 month old daughter just started formula 3 weeks ago. The first couple of weeks I put her on Enfamil Lipil but she was getting very gassy and crying all day and night and tooting and so forth.... I ended up buying Enfamil Gentlease to see if it would help. Immediately I noticed that she's spitting up tons! She didn't have this problem with the lipil. I have to change her outfits several times a day. It's been 4 days now since the switch. Has anyone else had this problem with Gentlease and does it eventually go away?

Well with any change from breastmilk to formula to a different formula you will have some "getting use to" You shouldnt just CHANGE your babies diet all of a sudden. It can mess with their tummies. If she sitn keeping the hentleease down at all Id go back to the lipil and stick with it. She may have a reflux problem as well or be lactose intolerant. Talk to her pediatrician.

You need to call her doctor and talk to her/him. Don't change a baby's formula, it is not good for them. My son had the same thing and is now on gentlease, used to be on nutramagin. The spit up problem turned out to actually be reflux so he gets drops everyday to help. Talk to you doctor.

maybe she's lactose intolorant that would cause gas,or spitting up my daughter did fine on the lipil

Like it was stated before, whenever you change an infants formula you have to ease them into it. This can take about a week. My daughter was on several formulas and the Gentlease was the only one that worked. Keep working at it, maybe this isn't going to work for her, but you should consult with your doctor.

i know when i switched mine she had a hard time pooping, took over 3 weeks for her to get use to it and with going only once maybe 4-6 days, i was worried also. The doctor(s) said to give it more time so her body can adjust. I had a lot of spit ups also, just burp her more often than you usually would to help prevent spit ups while feeding sicne air can push alot out of em. Call her doctor and get some advice if your worried still, but it takes a week or more for some babies to get use to the switch since their bodies are still tryn to get the hang of digesting stuff.

STOP the formula before she becomes dehydrated. GentleEase is a new marketing gimmick. Mead Johnson is copying 'Carnation Good Start' with the 'comfort proteins' theory. Apparently they don't like anyone cutting in on their profits. They are also reducing lactose to supposedly curb gas, but babies NEED lactose, and it's not the culprit for gas, the whole formula blend is. The added ARA and DHA have been reported frequently to the FDA for causing excessive diarrhea and dehydration in babies. Switch to a different formula company. One major difference between Enfamil and Similac is the fat blend they use. That could make a difference for your baby. Good luck.

i have had both of your problems.....i literally spent hundreds of dollars trying to find the right formula turns out enfamil wasnt a good formula for him......try similac i havent had a problem since it was a life saver good luck!!!!!!!!...o ya i know changing formula often isnt good for your baby but all the symptoms you stated tell me similac is probably your best bet....worked great for me

my baby is on Gentlease but I went from breast to part lipil to gentlease and I had to put him on nutramigien for about 2 months then back to gentlease.
