Today's Discussion

do WIC pay for enfamil nursette bottles?
I thought they pay just for the powder formula. I would like to buy some bottles, but they look so expensive. Please reply strictly in relation to this specific question or if you know a store (not internet) to buy them.

I don't believe that they pay for bottles but the only way to find out is to ask.

WIC only provides food, and formula. Maybe somebody will get you the bottles if you have a shower.

danawmanor
no only certain food products

No..WIC only pays for formula that is liquid or powder...not the formula that is from a nurser bottle.

No. WIC will not pay for bottles. They provide nutrition options for mothers and children, as in food and formula. If you can't afford the expensive bottles, buy the cheap ones. They work just as well. EDIT: I have to add this for those who think WIC is only for low income people. It's not. You can have a significant income, in fact you can be filthy rich and still qualify for WIC if your children do not meet the nutrition standards that they have for kids. They give you a certain amount of time to document how much and what kinds of food you and your kids eat, and if it doesn't meet their standards, you can still qualify regardless of how much money you make. Something to think about.

Wic will not cover the little 2oz nurser bottles. But if you get you doctor to write a script for the ready to feed, (with a VERY good reason t why you need) they will cover it. The ready to feed come in cans and all you have to do if pour it in a bottle and feed. But normally they only cover the powder unless you have a script for the ready to feed or the cans of consuntrated. ETA-- You can buy those bottle at Walmart. If you want to pay for them. Also if you haven't had you baby yet, while you are in the hospital that is what they use, so stock up in them while you are there.

Wic only pays for formula....later on rice cereal, peanut butter, mil, eggs, cheese, beans.....and juice. no bottles.

Babies R' Us and Target both carry the small Enfamil nursette bottles. They are EXPENSIVE! WIC would not cover them as they are more expensive than the formula powder and they are equal nutritionally. WIC will however cover the powder formula that comes in a can. My best friend was referred to WIC by her pediatrician because her baby had low birth weight and her family had low income. If you can breastfeed, its so much better for your baby. La Leche League offers support. You can check them out online. I breastfed both my daughters and plan on breastfeeding my son. The best part? Its free...nothing to buy ever!

Wic WILL only cover the nursette bottles with a prescription from the Dr. and I believe then it's ONLY for very premature babies who HAVE to have SPECIAL formula which wic will then have to order.

This is not on topic but this comment is for mizzus Jonez. Me and my husband make farely good money and have no problems affording our kids. I breast feed my daughter till she was 4 months old and i had to go back to work and the only formula that worked for her was the similac alimentum because she got horrible colic. And that formula is about 30 dollars a can which adds up pretty fast throughout the months. That is pretty expensive. And this person was just asking a question about bottles, there was no reason at all to be rude or hateful. its people like you that society cannot stand. Just because you have a job does not make you better that anyone else. If you cannot be nice and respectful then you shouldn't be on here.
