OH NOW I HEAR YA!! I was wondering WTF is he calling a bottle jack.. Look at the lift rating of the jack and any floor jack will do. you just need to get one that has the correct lift dimension, so it will lift the arm as high as the old one. I say floor jack but I call them post jacks not bottle jacks..

Some may use a bottle jack but most are a hydraulic ram. Its possible to have the rebuilt, and its usually not too costly, perhaps that is a good option. If it is actually a bottle jack, then you wil need to get one with the same specs as the one you have taken out.

The hydraulic jack on your engine hoist is either leaking or is broken I take it. To answer your question. No, you need to replace is with the correct unit or a comparable unit. Your going to have a few hundred pounds hanging by this "cherry picker" so you don't want to have it let loose and damage your vehicle or yourself and others involved. I've even seen some tip over " engine and all" by not using them correctly.. " Yes I mean me ".....any good rental company can supply you with one and may even deliver it to you or you can pick it up with the proper vehcile. Do yourself a favor...Do it right.....

I've been working on machinery for years, starting with cars, trucks, then heavy trucks, gas turbines, now hydro electric turbines. Never ever herd of a engine puller bottle jack??? What are you trying to go?
