one easy way is to look it up on ebay, see if someone else is selling a similar painting, otherwise you will likely have to get an appraisal from an authorized dealer

I don't know - look in the phone directory for an art dealer. Or email art-dealers that you find on google-search - they maybe can give you an emailed estimation.
