How to remove damp smell from a faux fur throw?
I have a very large faux fur throw that was hand washed but not properly dried and since then it's taken on a very musty/damp smell. Does anyone have any cheap tips on how to remove the odour as it'd cost a fortune to get it clean due to it's massive size(it's too big too fit in a washing machine or dryer). Thanks!

Mom of 3 and done.
Wait till you get a nice dry day and put it outside, or bring to a laundry mat and put in a extra large dryer.

No Kidding
Airing it in the sun may help, if that does not work I would suggest rewashing in a clean bathtub with Bicarb of soda or Washing (sal) soda. Then make sure it dries properly the nest time.

Wash the throw again but add baking soda to the wash water...1/2 to 1 cup, depending on how much water you use. Wash. Then rinse extremely well. Lay clean towels out on the floor in a large square pattern. Place the throw on these and roll and squeeze in the towels to remove excess water. Then hang the throw to completely dry. I hang our comforters on a coat rack. A coat rack works. So does a clothes line, especially if you can hang it over two lines so that air can circulate. You might be able to wash the throw in your washer using the gentle cycle and cold water. Add at least 1 cup of baking soda if you wash the throw in your washer. Your washer will do a better job of removing excess water than you possibly can do by hand. I still recommend hanging the throw to air dry, tho. Good luck. -
