I wash mine in regular detergent, on the warm/cold temp, with like colors. I add fabric softener to the wash, as well as fabric softener sheets in the dryer. It is the dryer especially that will change the feel of the material. I will usually throw in a couple extra sheets. I also try not to wash them too regularly, as this will wear out the material of any item.

wash in cold water gentle cycle mild soap do not dry in a dryer let air dry laying flat wash alone some bleed real bad. Try the water and vinegar mixture to stop all this place a mixture in a large tub and the throw let sit like this for 45-60 minutes but the throw has to be completely submerged in this tub in this mixture,Wring out excess water remove from the tub wring dry place in towels to get more water out.lay aside and do another the same way if have more,get washer tub ready for wash using cold water fill tub for amount of throws place soap in water then place throws in tub scrub stains if any let sit for 5-10 minutes and repeat if any stains remain if not can remove from washer and wring out with hands and wrap in towels get as much water as can out then lay flat on a flat surface till 2-3 hours pass then place on drying rack with clips till dry all the way. Needed'' 1 cup white vinegar Large tubs clean water @ room temp 3-4 large towels standard wash soap laundry clips to hold throw later.

I wash them in cold water all by themselves on the delicate cycle. Using half the suggested amount of detergent and no fabric softener. Then I tumble dry on low- no dryer sheet! My kids fleece blankets have lasted for years by using this method and they are as soft and fluffy as they were when new. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets can leave a nasty coating on fleece. Fleece is naturally soft without using softening agents. I wouldn't use Oxi Clean either.
