A framed cork board makes a wonderful bulletin board. The cork is porous and soft enough to stick pins in, while being sturdy enough to hold up.

There are many ways that these boards can be used. Let's look at what functions they can have.

In a business environment, the boards can be used to post important information for the employees to read.

Many times these are placed in the employee break rooms. Another way that businesses use these boards is to allow customers to post their business cards and other advertisements.

At home, these boards can be used for posting the kids' artwork and school accomplishments. They could also be used to leave messages to the family or post what is needed at the store too.

At school, these boards are used in the classrooms and the office areas for a variety of uses. Like posting event notices to the work of the student.

These boards also come in various sizes to suit your needs. So check one out today to see if it fits your purposes. Since the framed cork board does have a frame on it, it looks good with any décor

Ideas on how to decorate a cork board that is already framed?
I picked up this cork board at my local Goodwill for .69. It already came framed and as far as I can tell you can't take the frame apart without prying it apart. So my question for you is what would be some cheap alternative ways to decorate this thing since I'm not sure if I can get it apart to stable fabric around it?

Make a collage from magazine photos and clear varnish. Glue on small toys and trinkets.

Cork boards are rather flimsy and can break if you try to remove it the wrong way. See how its attached to the frame, lay it on a flat surface and gently pry it away from the frame. If its stapled on, those areas will probably break. If its glued on, try slip a sharp knife between the two and go around it to free it up... Also, use a new frame, something funky from the Goodwill you got it from??!!!

Hi Runt, A fun and easy way to enhance your board is to adhere a travel map to the center of it. Use one you already have at home. When you pin up your memories, place them near the state you were visiting at the time. Add simple paper flags to the top of each pin, and you'll have a really good thing! See a similar how-to at I hope this helps and remember, I have a brand new season of inspiring and easy-to-make craft ideas beginning September 26th on Hallmark Channel. Enjoy your summer and I'll see you then, Martha.

Paint the cork portion... Draw a design, plan out the colors, and try it out. Be careful, though. You don't want to glob the paint on or the board itself won't look great. I have an old framed cork board from college (the really cheap ones you get from Wal-Mart or someplace like that). I painted the frame black and hot-glued broken tiles, glass, etc. onto it and painted the interior. My friend took brightly-colored candy wrappers and rolled them into thin strips and glued them onto the edges of hers in little curly patterns. Both of us painted the board itself, too.
